Hope in the midst of Agony | A Study of the book of Lamentations
In 586 BC, the city of Jerusalem was utterly destroyed after a lengthy siege. During this time, the poet Jeremiah experienced some of the heaviest emotions a human can undergo. In the midst of tragedy of catastrophic proportions, he crafted a meticulous piece of art we know as the Old Testament book of Lamentations. In this series of poems, we find unexpected comfort, hope and promise despite agony, loss, and devastation.
